Our first full day in Germany and we are still getting over the jet lag. Brett, Ella and Jack were up at 2 am. Naps started at 8 am. We were all up and ready to head out for lunch and to get a look at our summer home city by noon.

Jack zoning out on the train.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating. It poured and was around 50 degrees. We, of course, did not have umbrellas. We made a brave attempt at sightseeing, but after lunch we were all wet and cold. German laws prevent stores from being open on Sunday, so we weren't able to find umbrellas.

Ella wet and cold.

At least we were able to get familiar with the train system, the S-Bahn. It is just a few steps away from our condo, so we will be using it all summer. Our condo is located above a shopping mall in the Pasing area of Munich.

The S-Bahn, our German transportation.

We are in for the evening watching German TV (we aren't able to get Netflix here). Brett leaves tomorrow for a few days to Paris on business. Hopefully the rain will end so the kids and I can get out into the city tomorrow.

  1. This is great! Jaxon, Josh and I are looking forward to reading about your travels! Jaxon already misses his 'Jackie boy.' "He's far far away on a airplane??"

Hope you guys will find an umbrella!!

  2. We are off to the grocery store today, so hopefully we will get everything we need! Tell Jaxon that we will send him a postcard, too.
